If we are to believe the latest report from the Project Management Institute (PMI), it predicts that 15.7 million new project management roles are to be created globally across seven project-intensive industries, between 2012 and 2020.
Even if this is only moderately accurate, it means that we’re going to have a shortage of skilled PMs very soon, so better hurry up hiring, honing and retaining them!
What’s more, the report states three key skillsets (which also happen to be amongst the 50 Golden Rules/Skills) good Project Managers need in order to align with today’s company constraints (do more with less, expanding global priorities, necessity to enable innovation):
1. technical project management skills
2. leadership skills
3. strategic and business management skills
